Pre-registration timeline — Fall 2018

March 26: Students receive an email message with details on how to register online and to complete the general information form and fill in the housing questionnaire. Deadline: April 4.


To provide your personal details:

  1. Login to the VWPP Administrative portal at
  2. Click on General info Tab at the top
  3. Provide all information requested (Note you can fill in French Mobile number once in France).
  4. Upload your photo (“Documents” section)
  5. Save changes


To fill out housing questionnaire:

  1. Login to the VWPP Administrative portal
  2. Choose the Housing tab at the top
  3. Follow directions and accept terms and conditions.
  4. Fill in your responses
  5. Click on submit.


April 4: Deadline for all students to submit responses to General information and Housing questionnaire online (see above).

April 5, 6, 9, 10:  Skype appointments with Lisa Fleury for Students of Wesleyan (please check with The Office of Study Abroad to make sure you sign up for an appropriate time-slot).

April 12,13,16,17 : Skype appointments with Lisa Fleury for students of Vassar (please check with Susan Stephens to make sure you sign up for an appropriate time-slot).

April 18: Housing questionnaire is closed for changes. If you have made any changes to your housing questionnaire between your Skype appointment and April 10th, please notify us by sending an email to

Any changes you wish to add after April 17th: please notify by an email of these, however they may not be guaranteed and are subject to availability.

April 16: You will receive a message from Professor Catherine Poisson, the 2018-2019 VWPP director, with request for University choices. Students are requested to consult French University Web sites to familiarize themselves with UFR’s, departments, parcours, etc. Guidelines are outlined on VWPP’s French Web site.

May 6: Student Deadline to complete university request.

To indicate your preferences:

  1. Login to the VWPP Administrative portal at
  2. Choose the Univ. Reg. tab at the top
  3. Click on Edit
  4. provide your choices and be sure to justify your 1st and 2nd choice in the textbox.
  5. Click on submit.

May 13: University assignment communicated to students along with request for information to pre-register at assigned university (on VWPP Administrative portal under Univ. Reg. tab).

May 17: Students receive the Alliance Française housing questionnaire and French language test directly from the Alliance Française, and will send both back directly to the Alliance Française.

May 21: Deadline to complete University enrolment form (on VWPP Administrative portal).

Note to students: all final decisions regarding course choice will be made in Paris.

At this point, you are advised to read through more carefully the brochures of UFR’s in which they are interested in order to pick out possible courses you want to take (remember only S3 and S5 courses are available for fall semester). Make sure to consult with the appropriate department in your home institution to make sure that the courses you are interested in will count toward you major (if you so wish). Make a list of potential courses of interest offered at your assigned university.

June 2: Reid Hall course descriptions for Fall 2018 will be available online on our French Website.

All students are required to give first and second choices for both a Writing intensive course and a seminar (so 4 courses choices in all). To indicate your preferences:

  1. Login to the VWPP Administrative portal at
  2. Choose the “Course Reg.” tab at the top
  3. Choose two Writing Intensive courses and two seminars from the drop down menus.
  4. Click on submit.

You will be able to preregister for VWPP courses only AFTER the Paris office receives all information for University pre-registration.

VWPP Course assignment will be communicated to students upon arrival in Paris in Fall 2018.

August 13: Make sure you have ordered your Navigo pass for Paris metro (for details see Essential information page).
