Fall 2024: Pre-Departure Timeline

March 2024You will receive an email indicating that you have been added to the VWPP database. Set up a password associated with your university email address and save it in a secure place. Add the database (https://data.vwpp.org/) to your bookmarks tab!
31 MarchDeadline to submit your General Information and the following documents to the VWPP database (tabs: General Info and Documents):
– a pdf scan of your passport (you can take a picture on your phone and save as a pdf)
– a passport-style photo against a white background (MUST BE JPEG)
– a photo or pdf scan of your current student ID card (from Vassar or Wesleyan)
Renew your passport at this time if necessary.

Important note: Passports must be valid for at least three months beyond your planned date of departure from the Schengen area. 
5 AprilAcademic orientation and university selection meeting with Jeff Rider, resident director of VWPP (2024-2025) and Anne Brancky, resident director of VWPP (2023-2024). 11am ET

Descriptions of the writing intensive courses and seminars offered at Reid Hall will be made available. Take the time to familiarize yourself with the course offerings and to discuss options with advisors if you are seeking major credit for these courses.  
Week of 15 AprilTCF at Vassar and Wesleyan
19 AprilDeadline to complete your university request in the database (tab: Univ. reg.): https://data.vwpp.org/. If you choose:
– the Sorbonne, you must have a B2 minimum and you must include a “lettre de motivation” (150 words) in French. Include your reasons for wanting to study at the Sorbonne, a description of your academic profile, and perhaps a couple of courses that interest you.
– Paris Cité, you must have a B2 minimum and you must include at least three course choices in your request (see our website for courses taken in the past, and the departmental brochures from last year for ideas).
Without these materials we can not complete your registration. 
Week of 22 AprilPre-Departure Logistics meetings with Sophie Kolesnikov, VWPP Program Coordinator, on Vassar and Wesleyan campuses. These meetings will also be led by Study Abroad/International Programs Staff and department faculty.

26 AprilDeadline for pre-registering for Reid Hall courses in the database (tab: Courses): https://data.vwpp.org/. You must rank courses according to preference and choose multiple options for your writing intensive and your seminar in order to be pre-registered.
29 April, 12 pm ESTGeneral housing information session with Hannah Gersten, assistant director of VWPP, over Zoom: https://vassar.zoom.us/j/4682335757. 12 pm EST. 
1 MayDeadline to fill out the housing questionnaire in the database (tab: Housing): https://data.vwpp.org/. Housing questionnaire will close for changes.
30 April, 2-3, 6-7 MayIndividual housing meetings with Hannah Gersten over Zoom : https://vassar.zoom.us/j/4682335757. (If you sign up for a meeting on April 30, please be sure to have completed your housing questionnaire by the time of your meeting).
17 MayYou will be sent your university assignment.
17 MayDeadline to commit to the round-trip group flight (communicate with Study Abroad Office/Office of International Programs). Your return flight can be modified at a later date. 
28 JuneIf you are not on the group flight, you must send your travel itinerary to info@vwpp.org by this date!
Deadline to open your WISE account (account in Euros) and send your IBAN to info@vwpp.org. This must be completed before you leave the US.
